The Greatest Love of All

There’s no greater love in all creation, in all history, no greater love to be found anywhere, than that of the love of God for each of us. If that seems like it is a difficult concept to grasp, you’re not alone. We can try to understand the depth and power of God’s love, but I am not sure we will ever be able to do so. This entire month has been about love. While most of the world stopped talking about it the day after Valentine’s Day, God has never stopped talking about how much He loves you and I. He showed us how much He loved us by sending His only Son so we could have eternal life through Him. Today, when someone gives their life for another human being, they are classified as heroes, and rightly so.

The greatest love of all time is the love of God shown when He sent His only Son for us. There is no other religion, no other proclaimed “god” who has given themselves for their followers, only Jesus. No other has bore the burden of the frailty and sins of humanity, only Jesus. No other has the resurrection power moved a lifeless body from a borrowed tomb to the right hand of the Father in eternity. No other sent a Comforter for their people, only God. And no other will return when the skies split, when in all His glory He will ride and come to take His bride to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Only. Jesus. Today, in a world overwhelmed by evil, a world that celebrates sin and death, remember that you have the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit living inside of you, and you are the beneficiary of the greatest love of all. What will you do with it?

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the perfect, immeasurable, uncontainable love You have shown me. As I go through the remainder of this year, guide my heart and my feet, my thoughts and my words, my eyes and my hands, so that I can be an honorable reflection of Your love to humanity. -Amen

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
