The Power of One Spark

One spark can be harmless, if it has no fuel to continue feeding the flame. But, one spark can start a catastrophic wildfire. It’s the power of the “start.” In the same way, good seed planted on hard, dry soil will produce no harvest, but a good seed planted in good soil can produce a bountiful harvest. Ultimately, the harvest, and the size of it, is up to the Father. Now, there are some folks who believe that, if we merely speak certain things, they will manifest. This is a terrible perversion of the truth of God’s Word regarding our words! What we speak is simply one piece of the equation. What we believe we dwell on (think), what we believe and dwell on, we will eventually talk about, and what we believe, dwell on, talk about, will affect our behavior and actions, which can have a tremendous impact on our external circumstances! Can you speak enough positive that your life sees tremendous change? Yes, in the same way that, if you only speak negative, you will eventually buy the bait of  negative and evil.

Here’s the biggest issue: we confuse our role in the seed and harvest cycle. Our job is to plant the seed, meaning, speak the truth of God’s word over our lives and circumstances even if it doesn’t match up with our current conditions! “Name it and claim it” doesn’t work if you are only wanting to line your own pockets or get comfortable and self-reliant. Our job is to plant the seed, it is the Father’s work to birth the harvest. Today, commit to speaking the truth of His word over your life, your relationships, your job, your marriage, family, speak His word, that is the seed we must sow first. Do not be deceived by those who would say the only seed (or primary seed) is your money! Your primary seed was given by the Father through His word. When we align our earthly conditions with the seed of His word, we are positioned to experience the “on earth as it IS in Heaven” declaration Jesus said!

Heavenly Father, Today, I declare Your Word over my life, but not so that I can become self-reliant, self-dependant, or self-motivated. I can do nothing without You and I hunger for Your Word! Please convict my heart if the words I speak out of my mouth, or the thoughts I entertain, are contrary to Your nature or Your Word. -Amen

We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches.
But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.
