The One Action Tied to Your Destiny

Throughout scripture we read of times when God commanded His people to leave a place, to go somewhere, or when Jesus said, “Come, follow me…” Directional commands of God are always tied to the destiny of the one receiving the commands. But, at a deeper level, our obedience is tied to breakthrough, to our destiny, and it may mean the difference in living a life of joy or misery. Where would Abraham have been if he had not obeyed God’s commands to leave and go? Maybe He isn’t speaking to you a command to go or leave, but He is surely calling all of us to follow Him, and that is an ultimate destiny changer.

When we fail to obey the Word of God, or the leading of His Spirit, we choose, by default, to remain in our own “Egypt” and forfeit the promiseland. When we refuse to walk in the truth of God’s word and follow Him, we choose to remain in our state of mundane living and miss out on the abundant life Jesus came to give all of us. Today, I challenge you to listen to what the Father is saying. Maybe He isn’t telling you to go or leave, but He is certainly calling all of us to follow Him.

The one action tied to your destiny? Obedience. That’s a tall order, but one we must willingly and joyfully fulfill in order to experience His best for our lives.

Heavenly Father, Cause my ears to become in tune with Your voice. Cause me to hear what You speak to me and reveal Your truths and direction to me through Your Spirit and Your Word. I love You and may all my actions and thoughts honor you today. -Amen
