A Time to Ask and a Time to Command.

Today may be a step in the direction of discomfort for you as it is me. It was a challenging perspective, merely a thought that I felt I would pass on to you to consider. When Jesus was at the wedding and turned the water into wine, do you believe He asked the water to turn into wine? What about the resurrection of Lazarus? Do you believe Jesus asked dead Lazarus to come out of the grave and back to life? Maybe He asked the stormy seas to calm instead of commanding them to be at peace. By now, you see the common thread I discovered. Now, I understand we do not go to God and command any thing of Him, as foolish and arrogant as that would be. But, as James 3:4 shows us, our words have tremendous power in the direction of our lives but we tend to give it inadequate attention.

I am not asking the disease to leave the body, I am commanding it in the authority Jesus has given me through His word. I am not asking for the mountain to move, I am commanding it to move. When our decrees (commands) align with the Word of God and His will for our lives, our rudders place our ships on a dead point for His divine destiny for our lives. Maybe it is time to discern the areas of your life where it’s time to hang up the ask, and break out the command. How will you pray? How will you speak? Use your rudder (tongue) wisely and with the authority given to you.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the boldness to command those things on this earth in life as they are already in heaven, and grant me wisdom and discernment in my approach to You in prayer. -Amen

And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever

the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong.

James 3:4 NLT
