The Cry of the Father, He Draws Near

We can try to manipulate our desires to meet God’s will and purpose, but ultimately, the reason we are delivered and saved is to fulfill the purpose for our existence. In this life, we have a specific purpose. Maybe we see that purpose as being in the marketplace, involved in missions, or some other form of faith-based action, but the singular purpose for any of those actions is to worship the One True Living God. It’s easy to get caught up in the things of this life and forget why we are here, especially when we are always focused on just surviving.

You see, the purpose for God’s people being delivered from Egypt wasn’t so they could prosper as individuals. That’s a consequence of being His, and there’s nothing wrong with walking in His favor and prospering. However, the reason for deliverance was to worship. We were not set free to wander in a religion-laced, Americanized version of what the Father intended, rather, we were set free to worship and walk in relationship, one with the Father. I am concerned, the more I read and study, that we have perverted the true relationship with a westernized version of the authentic pursuit of Christ. Who is this Jesus? Who is Yahweh? We know what we have been raised to believe, but do you see Him as someone who desires you to remain in bondage, always lacking, living one step ahead of the repossession company and concerned with where your next meal is? Or maybe, to you, He is a God of “just enough to get by.” Or maybe, He is a cruel God, a God who causes people to suffer and live in torment.

I challenge you today to seek the Father for who He is, and there is only one way to the Father, and that is through His Son. Who is He to you? How do you perceive Him? What would your life look like if He revealed His nature and kindness to you?

Heavenly Father, Break away from my heart those things that separate me from You. Those things that distract me in my pursuit of You. Show me Your ways, Father. Direct my steps, not in this life, but in my pursuit of You. Today, today my life is about You. All the needs will be met, for that I am sure. All the things of this world will pass, but today I choose to set them all aside and pursue You for who You are, not what You can do. Wash me Father. Cleanse me. Fill me with Your Spirit and stir my heart to an awakened and hungry state for Your word. -Amen

Listen. Listen as the Spirit of God calls us to deeper places, to a more mature walk with the Father. Set aside the things of old, unlearn the negative and inaccurate things, seek Him through His word and let it take root in our hearts. He’s stirring us. He’s wooing us. He’s calling us from stale living and deep slumbers. Awaken!! Awaken Bride of Christ! See that the Spirit of God is calling you to His side!

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go back to Pharaoh and announce to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so they can worship me.
